Catarina A. Barbosa M. Reis (b. 1989) is an architect and transmedia artist based in Lisbon, Portugal, working at the intersection of art, science and technology. She has recently been focusing her practice on transmedia artworks that explore feral ecologies and unexpected ecological entanglements, through a transdisciplinary research-creation methodology. She is currently a Ph.D. researcher at the Department of Multimedia Art, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon. Her doctoral research project, titled "Tentacular Ecologies: Interspecies Co-creation," investigates the fascinating realm of interspecies collaboration and co-creation around the vegetable and plant kingdom. By combining artistic practice with scientific tools her works aims to uncover new possibilities for ecological engagement and understanding. Additionally, Catarina is a member of the Artistic Studies Research Center (CIEBA), the Interactive Technologies Institute (ITI-LARsyS). Her involvement in these research institutions highlights her commitment to the advancement of transdisciplinary practices. She was awarded an FCT doctoral grant in 2020
